Publication in PC&E

We are happy to announce that a paper entitled :Endophytic yeast protect plants against metal toxicity by inhibiting plant metal uptake through an ethylene-dependent mechanism, which is the result of research conducted within the NCN projects OPUS 14 and OPUS 17 under the leadership of dr hab. Piotr Rozpądek. The work concerns the effects of an endophytic yeast strain on plant mechanisms associated with metal tolerance of potential toxic metals (in this case, mainly Fe and Ni). https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1111/pce.14473

New team members

We are glad to announce that our team has grown by two new members. Dr Łukasz Szydłowski and mgr Maciej Gustab joind the OPUS 17 project “Mechanism of plant endophytic fungi interactions. The role of the endosymbiont in plant phosphorus metabolism.” We are looking forward for the first successes. Welcome aboard!

Changes connected to COVID-19 pandemic

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all planned educational activities in our laboratory had to be suspended. Both, Nature Workshops and Student’s internships have been suspended until further notice. We hope for the quick return of pupils and students to classes with our team. Any changes will be anounced on the website. Stay save!

V edition of Nature Workshop

For the fifth time, the Research Group on the Interaction of Microorganisms with Plants organized a Workshop on Nature “The role of microorganisms in the functioning of the ecosystem”, which took place on January 17, 2020. During this edition, we hosted dr Anna Czarna from the Protein Crystallography Research Group (MCB UJ), who will prepare an additional workshop panel for the next edition. The event was held as part of the promotion and popularization of science. We invite you to contact us and participate in this form of activity.
